The Discovery of the Top Quark

We will trace the discovery of the top quark at the Tevatron from the prior indications of its existence through the experimental observation by the CDF and D0 experiments in 1995. We will summarize what has been learned about this heaviest fundamental constituent of matter since the discovery.
