I will shortly present the Lohengrin spectrometer at the Institut Laue-Langevin and address to the ongoing experimental activity in nuclear fission on the instrument. In more detail I will concentrate on the kinetic energy distributions, excitation energy distributions and spin distributions of fission fragments, and will apply the statistical model to calculate distribution functions which will be compared to the experimental results. Finally I will present the project for a new spectrometer which will allow to measure prompt decay characteristics of fragments with the aim to further investigate the validity of the statistical model in nuclear fission.
