This internship subject will be devoted to some of the developments of pixel array detectors for particle physics, especially for the future International Linear Collider (ILC). New pixels are needed and a quantum well version has been already proposed and simulated. The successful candidate will contribute by developing an analytical physical model of the proposed structure, starting from the properties of quantum wells. If a physical structure under fabrication is then available then measurements may follow. Some TCAD (Technological Computer Aided Design) simulation tools may also be used.
