Death of Andre Brahic  
The management and employees of CEA pay tribute to André Brahic, astrophysicist who died on Sunday 15 May.

André Brahic, an astrophysicist at the Institute for Research into the Fundamental Laws of the Universe CEA, and professor at the University Paris 7, had discovered the existence of Neptune's rings. unanimously recognized scientist, specialist in space exploration and the solar system, he eagerly participated in the promotion of scientific knowledge, to the media and conferences. He died Sunday, May 15.
André Brahic has particularly studied the rings of the planets of the solar system, taking part in several observation missions, including Cassini mission. He specialized in the rings of Saturn and co-discovered Neptune's rings and their structuring. He was the author of many books, and was actively involved in promoting knowledge and scientific culture in society.
In 1990, the asteroid (3488) Brahic was named in his honor. André Brahic has received numerous awards, both for the scientific work or extension. He was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor July 14, 2015.
André Brahic was born November 30, 1942 in Paris, and died May 15, 2016 in the same city.
