Workshop on Hadron Structure and Spectroscopy

Paris, March 1st to 3rd 2004

paris

A Workshop on Hadron Structure and Spectroscopy will be held in Paris from March 1st to 3rd 2004. It will be followed by a COMPASS collaboration meeting from March 4th to 5th 2004.

The workshop and the collaboration meeting are organized by the Saclay group of the Compass collaboration. They will take place at the Ministry of Research and New Technologies in the center of Paris (Quartier Latin), in the Poincaré lecture hall.

Physics topics

This workshop is mainly dedicated to physics topics accessible with facilities comparable to the COMPASS experiment.
On the theoretical point of view, the following topics will be addressed:

  • Quantum Chromodynamics and spin (gluon spin, transversity,...)

  • Generalized Parton Distributions

  • Lattice QCD calculations

  • Phenomenology of exotics and glueballs

Presentations will be given on status and outlook of experiments which cover the same areas, in particular:

  • Spin physics (gluon polarization, parton distributions, transversity, Deep Virtual Compton Scattering and strange form factors)

  • Hadron spectroscopy (test of chiral perturbation theory via Primakov reactions, double charmed baryons, exotics and glueballs)
