Baptisé "Télescope Géant Européen E-ELT" (pour European Extremely Large Telescope), ce nouveau télescope terrestre a un concept révolutionnaire avec un miroir principal de 39 metres de diamètre et sera le plus grand télescope du monde, observant dans le visible et l'infrarouge.
