The STARACC project is developing on three main axes.

- Modelization.
The numerical tools of hydrodynamic radiative simulation have been progressively adapted. The HYDRO-COOL 2D code was initially used as part of the thesis of C. Busschaert (2013). The adaptation of the study to a 3D configuration is currently underway using the RAMSES code (AMR mode) with the support of the LMPA laboratory (SAp), as part of the current thesis of Lucile van Box Som.

- Experimentation.
In anticipation of laser shots of the Megajoule class, laser shots at LULI are in preparation with the aim to test in 2017 a new configuration using an intense external magnetic field to confine the plasma in replacement of the plastic tube used so far.

A program of systematic observation of the accretion instabilities within the white magnetic dwarfs is under way. The XMM database was used for the search for rapid instabilities (QPOs 1-3 s) in the Polars X -ray flux (Bonnet-Bidaud et al., 2015) and the comparison with numerical simulations (Busschaert et al., 2015 ). A detailed analysis of the optical oscillations of two sources, using VLT (ESO-Chile) observations, using the ULTRACAM visitor instrumentation of the Durham group (UK), was published  (Bonnet-Bidaud et al., 2017, Mouchet et al., 2017),
The observation program continues today at SAAO observatory, jointly on the 2m and 10m telescopes (SALT) (South Africa), which allowed the discovery of oscillations (QPOs) in a new source (Breytenbach et al 2017, in preparation).
