Weak Form Factors of the Nucleon

The aim of our experiments is the determination of the weak form factors of the nucleon. Combined with the electromagnetic form factors these new observables allow us to access to the contributions of the strange quark to the charge and current distributions inside the nucleon. These contributions are usually parametrized by the so-called electric and magnetic strange form factors. Experimentally the quantity we measure is the Parity Violating Asymmetry in scattering of polarized electrons off an unpolarized hadronic target. A set of 3 experiments in Hall A at Jlab provides us with complementary combinations of the strange form factors. They all use the same experimental method and only differ by their kinematics and target:
