The reaction (Lambda N --> K-NN) plays a role in the production of hypernucleus, but unfortunately almost no information exists on it. A simple model based on Feynman diagrams will be developed and used to try to overcome this gap.
Simulation of hypernucleus production requires the treatment of hadron-nucleon cascade reactions in the target nucleus. For some of these elementary reactions information is available (cross sections, final products), which allows them to be taken into account, but for others not. The INCL code (Liège IntraNuclear Cascade) developed at Irfu/DPhN is capable to simulate the production of strange particles and hypernuclei. The comparison with the data is very interesting. Nevertheless, the production of K- suffers from the lack of a non-implemented channel: Lambda N --> K-NN. It was not included in the first version of INCL with strangeness due to a lack of information. Within this internship we propose to try to estimate the cross section of this reaction, and possibly the characteristics of the final products, by a simple model based on Feynman diagrams. The result of this work will be implemented in INCL and tested on the production of K-. The goal is to improve hypernucleus production simulations.
