Des chercheurs de l’Irfu ont passé 20 jours du 21 avril au 10 mai 2018 à plus de 5000 m d’altitude pour remonter la caméra Artemis au foyer du télescope d’Apex. Avec ses 2800 bolomètres lui permettant d’observer dans le domaine submillimétrique, cette caméra scrute l’Univers de l’hémisphère sud pour y dénicher les pouponnières d’étoiles.

Irfu researchers spent 20 days from 21 April to 10 May 2018 at an altitude of more than 5,000 m to reassemble the Artemis camera up to the focus of the Apex telescope. With its 2,800 bolometers allowing it to observe in the submillimetric domain, this camera scans the Universe of the southern hemisphere to find the nurseries of stars.
