Physics case  The overall picture of particle physics, the so-called Standard Model, has been recently probed by the discovery at CERN of the Higgs particle; it is consistent with the existence of three neutrinos. Oscillations between these neutrinos has been observed in many experiments  and are already a compelling evidence of new physics beyond the Standard Model.

Dust Excess
Evidence for large-scale excesses associated with low HI column densities in the sky   Where dust and gas are uniformly mixed, atomic hydrogen can be traced through the detection of far-infrared or UV emission of dust. We considered, for the origin of discrepancies observed between various direct and indirect tracers of gas outside the Galactic plane, possible corrections to the zero levels of the Planck-HFI detectors.
Hadron electromagnetic form factors parametrize the internal structure of hadrons, the dynamical distribution of magnetization and charge created by the inner constituents.  They are considered fundamental quantities as they are a privileged background for interplay between theory and experiment.

Les distributions de partons généralisées (GPD)
La nature de ces nouvelles fonctions     Des progrès théoriques importants survenus dans les cinq dernières années permettent d'étendre considérablement la notion de distributions de partons dans un nucléon ou un méson.
Taking into account the professions of scientific research, technological instrument development, project management and its value-creating activities, Irfu has created an active network of Irfu alumni based on common values such as solidarity and contributing to Irfu's influence. This network makes it possible in particular to set up and implement training actions and exchange actions between alumni and current students/CDs in order to help them in their professional integration.

Spectroscopy and Identification of Rare Isotopes Using S3
The high-intensity stable beams of the superconducting linear accelerator of the SPIRAL2 facility at GANIL coupled with the Super Separator Spectrometer (S3) and a high-performance focal-plane spectrometer will open new horizons for the research in the domains of rare nuclei and low cross-section phenomena at the limit of nuclear stability.

The KATRIN experiment
Measurement of the active neutrino mass scale and search for light sterile neutrinos
The KATRIN experiment Neutrinos are the most abundant matter particles of the Universe, but also the lightest! In 2015 the Nobel prize was awarded for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass. Their tiny mass is a compelling evidence for physics beyond the standard model of elementary particle physics.

VIRGO/SPM
Variability of solar IRradiance and Gravity Oscillations / Sun PhotoMeters
The scientific objective of the VIRGO experiment (Variability of solar IRradiance and Gravity Oscillations) on board SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) is to determine the characteristics of pressure and internal gravity oscillations by observing irradiance and radiance variations, to measure the solar total and spectral irradiance, and to quantify their variability over periods of days to the duration of the mission. With these data helioseismological methods can be used to probe the solar interior.
