Since its delivery to Saclay on May 19th, the teams from Irfu and Institut Joliot are working hard to commission the 11.7T magnet of the Iseult Project.

During this seminar, we will present the work performed by the Irfu teams since the installation of the magnet in its arch mid-June and the next steps required to reach the nominal magnetic field of 11.7T. We will then come back to the strategic and technical choices made at the beginning of the project, regarding in particular the cryogenics plant, the steering and the supervision of the magnet and will explain the impact of these decisions on its exploitation. Since the design and manufacturing of a human brain imaging coil at 11.7T is part of the Iseult Project, we will then present all the work accomplished by the Coil Team (mixed Irfu – Institut Joliot team) towards the delivery of this coil, which will also be a world premiere. Finally, we will expose the updated calendar of the integration of the MRI 11.7T, from the magnetic field ramp-up until the first images in animals and then in humans.

Do not hesitate to ask questions!
