The tradition of the TESHEP school goes to the first French-Ukrainian School of High Energy Physics organized in Mukachevo, Ukraine, in 2007. The first school assembled 35 students from France, Ukraine and many East European countries, and professors mainly from France and Ukraine. Being really international, starting already from the next year, the school changes its bilateral French-Ukrainian name to Trans European School for High Energy Physics. Following school editions took place three times in Ukraine (2008, 2011, 2013) as well as in Poland (2009), Romania (2010) and Serbia (2012). The school program comprises lecture series, topical seminars, practical work, student professor discussion sessions and students presentations.
The basic idea of the school is to promote High Energy Physics for the students from Eastern and Central Europe, with the basic aim of reinforcing and encouraging the East-West Europe scientific and pedagogical links. The school director is Achille Stocchi (LAL Orsay and University Paris Sud). The Irfu and SPP scientists are the key members of the program and pedagogical school committee and are making a major contribution to the school organization (Slava Sharyy, Marc Besancon, Marco Zito, Patrick Le Du, Pierre Lutz, Tomasi Egle, Maxim Titov). Since the 2010, the school is officially supported by CERN. Among the invited speakers of the school were Research Directors of CERN - Sergio Bertolucci and DESY - Joachim Mnich. The TESHEP school establishes an excellent scientific and pedagogical platform that deserves to be continued and further strengthened.
