Introduction to the China-ADS project and accelerator design

China officially launched a pilot study project on the Accelerator Driven Subcritical System (China-ADS or C-ADS) in end 2010. The long term goal is to build an industrial demonstration facility in about 2032, with three major steps in the development. This talk will present the general situation of nuclear power development in China, the strategy to develop ADS technology, especially the accelerator design scheme for the C-ADS. Some key technology developments related to the ADS accelerator are also presented.
