Pairing correlations play an important role in describing available experimental data as odd-even mass staggering, pair-transfer reactions, di-proton decay. In my talk I will give a short review concerning several pairing phenomena in finite nuclei: both in the stability valley and at the neutron drip-line, with special emphasis on ground-state properties. I will also discuss the importance of nuclear superfluidity in different systems as neutron stars. In such case I will show how different pairing scenario can modify the time-evolution of the star.
