A brief tour through Effective Field Theories analyses of New Physics searches

Effective Field Theories are a useful tool to analyze and compare different New Physics searches.
I will introduce the main concepts behind this approach, and its advantages and limitations.
Finally I will discuss the application to Higgs decays, and the interplay with LEP and low-energy searches.
