The seminar tells about the experience gained in few years of hands-on work in the field of muon radiography, or muography. From a particle physicist's point of view, it highlights the difference in experimental techniques, specifically for nuclear emulsions, between fundamental research and this field of applied physics. Next, some details of simulation that are common to many detectors used in muography are shown, along with the opportunities given by the Virtual Muography Institute. From a most general point of view, an outlook is given of efforts to set up an arising cooperative network on European scale.
