Tomsick et al. 2012 (ApJ):
- Chandra observation => 2 possible X-ray counterparts
- CXOU J161728.2-502242:
- Possibly associated to an USNO-B1.0 and an USNO-A2.0 sources
- B2=18.15, R1=17.02, R2=17.08, I=17.14 in USNO-B1.0
- Position consistent with 1RXS J161728.1-502238
- Chandra spectrum => NH=5.7 x 1021 cm-2, Γ=0.97, plus a Gaussian
emission @ 6.8 keV extrapolation to IBIS range => cut-off
- All properties => source is galactic, not an HMXB (no IR counterpart), possibly a magnetic CV
- CXOU J161720.6-502415:
- GLIMPSE source marginally consistent (and doubtful) with Chandra source
- Spectrum => NH=2.2 x 1023 cm-2, Γ=1.4, extrapolation to IBIS range
compatible with INTEGRAL measurement
- Absorbed HMXB or Sey 2 but IR counterpart would be expected
