Measuring the astrophysical S-factor in plasma

We discuss a method for a direct measurement of the astrophysical S-factor for neutron-less nuclear reactions induced in laser plasmas. A very preliminary experiment to test the concepts supporting our theoretical predictions was performed at the ENEA ABC-facility. The target material, shoot during a facility tuning up activity, was provided by LNS Laboratory.
The preliminary results are reviewed as well as some theoretical predictions.
