Motivated by the discovery of the acceleration of the expansion rate of the Universe, modified gravity models involve a scalar field whose mass is very low, triggering the possibility of violating gravitational tests in the solar system. I will review the different mechanisms which allow one to evade deviations from General Relativity locally and investigate the influence of these models on cosmological observables (large scale structure and CMB).
