Research at AIM is based on three pillars: space instrumentation, observations, and modeling.

The following six teams carry out the latter two pillars:

• Laboratory for the Dynamics of Stars, Exoplanets, and their Environment (LDE3)
• Laboratory for the Study of High-Energy Cosmic Phenomena (LEPCHE)
• Laboratory for Cosmology and Statistics (LCS)
• Laboratory for Astrophysical Plasma Modeling (LMPA)
