A partial eclipse visible from Saclay!
This morning of October 25, 2022, the Sun had an appointment with the Moon: a partial eclipse was visible from Saclay. For this occasion, we installed a Halpha solar telescope on the lawn in front of the 709. The weather was rather generous since the sky was partially clear and everyone could observe the solar disk covered in small part by the disk of the Moon in backlight, showing us two sunspots, filaments, spicules and some protuberances. A small moment of meeting and exchange by taking advantage of this modest but nevertheless admirable spectacle (see image captured with a camera at the focus of the telescope).

The 100 mm LUNT solar telescope open at f/7, financed by the Labex FOCUS for its educational activities is kept at the DAp. It is dedicated to teaching and scientific dissemination activities. For more information, please contact Pascal Gallais or Samuel Ronayette.
