Atelier ESNT: Isospin symmetry and its breaking in nuclear structure du 26 au 29 avril au SPhN

The isospin symmetry is an approximate but very useful symmetry of atomic nuclei. For many years, it serves as a stringent guideline for the construction of the nucleon-nucleon interaction. However for a large class of problems the explicit physical breaking of isospin symmetry must be considered and well controlled theoretically.
The goals of the workshop are to present recent developments in the theoretical description of the physical breaking of isospin-symmetry in nuclei and organize a critical dicussion on the ability of different many-body models to reach the required precision and possible contrainsts from experiments.
