Strange Form Factors of the Nucleon

  • Extensive studies of the Q^2 dependence of the strange form factor are also performed in Hall C at Jlab with the G0 experiment as well as at MAMI with PVA4.
  • At low Q^2 the SAMPLE experiment at MIT-Bates constraints the strange magnetic moment.

  • Test of the Standard Model

  • SLAC-E158: This experiment measures the Weinberg angle at very low Q^2, far from the Z0 pole, via parity violation in Moller scattering. It provides a powerfull test of the Standard Model and scenari beyond it... The SPhN has designed the pion detector and is in charge of the analysis of the related data.
  • Qweak in hall C at JLab. Measurement on the proton complementary to E158.

  • Neutron Radius

  • Coupling of the Z0 to the neutron is much stronger than to the proton. Thanks to the high level of accuracy reached by the Parity Violation experiments, it is proposed to measure the radius of the neutrons distribution in Lead 208 at the 1% level through the PV asymmetry in elastic scattering of electrons.
