The
Center for Space Plasma and Aeronomic Research (CSPAR) at the
University of Alabama in Huntsville and the Laboratory of Research into
the Fundamental Laws of the Universe of
the French Commissariat of Atomic Energy (CEA/IRFU), will organize
ASTRONUM-2009 -- the 4th International Conference on Numerical Modeling
of Space Plasma Flows at the Palais des congres of Chamonix, France.
The topics of
the conference will cover the
following subjects:
•Advanced numerical
methods for space,
astrophysical
and geophysical flows
• Large-scale
fluid-based simulations
• Kinetic
and hybrid simulations
• Magnetohydrodynamics
• Turbulence
and cosmic ray transport
• Data handling and
visualization
with the application to
• Cosmology
and galaxy
formation
• Dynamo
theory
• Physics
of sun-heliosphere-magnetosphere
• Laboratory
astrophysics and inertial
• Confinement
fusion
• Interstellar
medium and star formation
• Stellar physics and
supernovae
The purpose of the conference is to bring together leading experts in
applied mathematics, space physics, astrophysics, and geophysics in
order to discuss the application of novel numerical algorithms to
computationally challenging problems.
The conference
will be structured around invited, 40-minute overview and 25-minute
regular talks, and a limited number of contributed talks, with no
parallel sessions.
E-mail
inquiries about the meeting should be
directed to np0002@uah.edu
