End of the mystery of the accretion of matter around the nascent stars
Researchers from the Laboratory for the Use of Intense Lasers - Luli (École Polytechnique/UPMC/CEA/CNRS) have succeeded in observing and characterizing, through the use of lasers and the observation of X-ray emissions, how matter accumulates on the surface of a star during its formation, from a gaseous nebula to become a fully formed star like our Sun.
