An international research team including the CEA, the CNRS and the University Grenoble-Alpes1 revealed, by asteroseismology, a surprising alignment of the axes of rotation of stars in open clusters, revealing the conditions under which stars were formed in our galaxy. This result was obtained by studying, thanks to NASA's Kepler mission, a set of red giants in two ancient open clusters of the Milky Way and appears on March 13, 2017 in one of Nature Astronomy.
