By using several thousand images of Saturn's moons delivered by the Cassini probe (NASA/ESA), an international team led by an astronomer from Paris Observatory within the Institute of Celestial Mechanics and Ephemeris Calculation (Paris Observatory/CNRS/UPMC/Université Lille 1), in collaboration with CEA researchers, is able to highlight very small fluctuations in the gravitational field of the planet. Published in the journal Icarus, this extremely fine result emanates from a series of works carried out by the same team on Saturn's ecosystem, whose vision it renews in depth. Carried to the image by the researchers, this one is to be discovered, as of today, with an animation of 8 minutes on the channel dailymotion of the Observatoire de Paris.
