The foundation stone of the European neutron source ESS, Lund (Sweden)

The construction of ESS (European Spallation Source), destined to become the most powerful neutron source in the world, is launched in Lund (Sweden). This very large international instrument aims to provide neutron beams for basic and applied research.  As part of France's commitment, the CNRS and the CEA are participating in its construction, which should be completed by 2019.
