In my talk, I’d like to outline recent developments and milestones within the NUSTAR (Nuclear Structure Astrophysics and Reactions) physics community on the way to building FAIR, one of the new large accelerator facilities, where rare isotope beams will be available at unprecedented intensities. The presentation will include the physics programme and necessary steps towards the full facility.
